    Nottingham Uni wins Autumn NUSC

    The University of Nottingham Arrows finally won the BSUK National University Softball Championship title on the weekend of 14-15 October at Farnham Park, courtesy of a 10-8 win in the final over the Portsmouth Shafters.

    Largest-ever Cotswold Tournament mostly escapes the rain

    The rain held off on Sunday 1 October except for an hour or so late in the day, and that allowed the largest-ever Cotswold Autumn Tournament to take place, with 16 teams playing on some slightly muddy diamonds at the Archway School in Stroud.

    As the 2017 season winds down with the last outdoor tournaments of the year, two large and long-established slowpitch leagues – Manchester and Windsor – have announced that it will be compulsory for batters and baserunners to wear helmets during league play in 2018.

    USA power wins second straight World Series

    Team USA pounded four home runs over the fence as part of a 24-hit barrage that brought them a second straight World Series title at the Imperial College Heston Venue on the weekend of 9-10 September, as the Americans crushed the GB Masters 24-6 in a four-inning mercy rule final.
