National Softball League entries set for 2017

The list of teams that will compete in both sections of the National Softball League in 2017 has now been set by the British Softball Softball Federation.

League competition for both NSL 1 and NSL 2 will be played on a home-and-away basis at the three Diamond Series weekends at Farnham Park on 13-14 May, 10-11 June and 29-30 July.


NSL 1

Twelve A-grade teams will compete in NSL 1, with the top eight in the final league standings advancing to the Premier Nationals on 2-3 September at Farnham Park.

Most teams are a mix of players from around the country but those that are region-based are indicated below.

H2O
Knights
Leeds Terriers
Legends
LNZ
Manchester Dodgers
Manchester Greensox
Manchester Thunder
Pioneers

LNZ, who were relegated at the end of the 2016 season, have retained their place because of the withdrawal of Slammers.


NSL 2

The twelve B-grade teams listed below will compete in NSL 2, with the top eight in the final league standings advancing to the NSL 2 Nationals on 2-3 September at Farnham Park.

There will be promotion and relegation of one or more teams between NSL 1 and NSL 2 after the league season, and teams will also be relegated from NSL 2 and replaced by teams new to the competition.
